Montgomery Village Garden Club was Founded in 1995. We are a small but consistent group of 35 members founded in 1995 to study, practice and promote gardening and its related arts and sciences in the community. The club provides monthly programs open to the public in a local community center on these topics.
Under the guidance of former member, the late Marion Caldwell, a past president of the National Capital Area of Garden Clubs, we placed a Blue Star Memorial marker in the middle island of Montgomery Village Avenue.
We also participate in several outreach programs in our community. Members of the garden club are helping to maintain the grounds of the Hospice Caring Cottage in Gaithersburg. Hospice Caring is a nonprofit organization that provides non-medical support to families with someone in hospice. Once a month, members of the club pick up trash, weed and trim the garden around the cottage.
